We continue to refine and develop the services offered in the United Kingdom Continental Shelf (UKCS), Norwegian and Dutch sectors. This is in addition to services provided further afield – e.g. in Argentina, Kazakhstan, Nigeria and Venezuela.
Established to support North Sea supply chain operations in 1996, First Point Assessment (FPAL) is now widely recognised as supplier management system for the oil & gas industry in the UKCS and throughout Europe. With a wide variety and choice of over 3,000 supplier records available, FPAL is utilised by over 85 purchasers as the pan European vendor selection system for oil & gas. FPAL registration is regarded as a mandatory pre-qualification requirement for suppliers planning to supply directly to the Operators and major Service companies and receive invitations to tender. Acquired by Achilles Information Ltd in 2004, FPAL remains an industry governed system; steered by a committee of oil & gas representatives, and is firmly positioned as the direct route to business in oil & gas.
Achilles Joint Qualification System (JQS) is a unique collaboration between Norwegian and Danish oil and gas operators and management contractors. The participating organisations use the system to provide information and to select suppliers and contractors when buying goods and services. Those buyers not subject to the EC procurement directives are actively using the system as a joint vendor database.
First Point Kazakhstan (FPK) is the supplier information management system designed to support oil & gas supply chain operations in Kazakhstan. Launched in 2010, FPK was specifically designed to address the legislative requirements for ‘local content’ in Kazakhstan and establish an online supply chain network where registered suppliers are searchable online and directly invited to tender by the NOCs and international oil companies operating in Kazakhstan. FPK buyers have access to up-to-date and accurate supplier records detailing capabilities in critical areas such as health, safety, environment and finance which minimises risk within the supply chain during the vendor selection process. Some of the principal Spanish and Portuguese electricity, gas, oil, water and shipbuilding companies, with the objective of having a tool to register their suppliers and vendors effectively, have agreed to establish a common system, the Registro de Proveedores (RePro). This database is open to participation from all companies operating in similar areas depending on the products and services demanded. It is continually updated, objective, and non-discriminatory.
The NipeX Joint Qualification System (NJQS) is an initiative designed to help provide visibility and transparency in the contracts and procurement processes within the Nigerian oil and gas industry.
In order to secure a correct and objective procurement process, some of the more important Argentinean companies have extablished a common scheme (SICLAR) for qualification of suppliers of products and services to the oil and gas industry in Argentina.
