The overwhelming response and the level of attendance at the event held during 1st September in Santiago, Chile confirmed, once again, the desire and need for SMEs to access business opportunities with large buying companies of Latin America. The event was held at the Intercontinental Hotel, with over 400 participants.
During the morning, Vale, Codelco, Anglo American, AES Corporation and Petrobras gave their presentations, explaining the key points for suppliers to gain access to business opportunities. In the afternoon, business roundtables gave registered suppliers the possibility to generate face to face contact with buyers, bringing them their products and services proposals.
Moreover, during the workshop in the morning, the event was attended by the Deputy Minister of Mining, Mr. Paul Wagner and the Minister of Transport and Telecommunications, Mr. Felipe Morandé, who provided interesting insights about the current needs of Chile in developing the supply chain.
The seminar concluded with the participation of Felipe Cubillos, who is responsible for activities of Desafío Levantemos Chile, a nonprofit organisation that has actively participated in rebuilding the country after the earthquake of February this year.
Jorge Heras, General Manager for Achilles Latam, reaffirmed the company’s intention of remaining a communicational bridge between buyers and sellers, transforming information into knowledge and providing business opportunities for both parties.
